The Michael T. Leary Scholarship Fund was established to raise funds to endow a need based scholarship for students wishing to attend Providence College and earn a degree in Computer Science. We are writing to invite your support and consideration of a corporate sponsorship. A fund raiser is being held on June 10th, 2006 in Boston, MA in an effort to endow a scholarship in memory of Michael T. Leary, class of '99.
In May, 2005 family and friends of 27 year old Michael Leary were deeply saddened by his untimely death. Michael was a loyal friend to both his classmates and the community in Central Square -- Cambridge, MA. His boundless honesty and devotion to those he cared for has had a profound effect on those he left behind. The joy that Michael brought to us will never fade and echoes of his laughter will forever remain in our hearts.
A scholarship committee was formed in 2006 consisting of Michael's friends, family, and classmates. The task has been undertaken to endow a scholarship at Providence College in memory of Michael T. Leary. As a student, Michael was a pioneer in Computer Science. A truly gifted tactician, no problem was beyond his ability to solve. Providence College will award the Michael T. Leary Scholarship to a prospective student intending to major in Computer Science.
